Presbyterian assistance is being directed toward Iraqi children
from Presbyterian News Service
February 21, 2003 [posted here
2-25-03]
Presbyterian Disaster Assistance has
provided $30,000 in support of the "All Our Children Campaign" recently
endorsed by Jimmy and Rosalyn Carter. The Carters in their endorsement
wrote: "The immediate goal is to provide emergency medical supplies to save
thousands of Iraqi children who are victims of an international situation
for which they have no responsibility. We believe that God intends for us
always to seek ways to alleviate suffering and to settle differences so that
the innocent are not harmed."
The $1 million "All Our Children" campaign
will help to meet the critical ongoing health needs of Iraqi children for
antibiotics, anesthesia, IV solution kits, and clean water resources.
Critical care assistance for Iraqi children will be delivered through a
coalition of non-governmental organizations that includes PDA partners, ACT
and Church World Service.
Designated giving towards this appeal
(#9-2000082) can be made online through the PDA Web site
www.pcusa.org/pda, through your local
Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) congregation, or by mailing a check payable to
Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) to Central Receiving Service, Section 300,
Louisville, KY 40289. |

this new blog for Voices of Sophia, introduces it:
After fifteen years of scholarship
and activism, Voices of Sophia presents a blog. Here, we present the
voices of feminist theologians of all stripes: scholars, clergy,
students, exiles, missionaries, workers, thinkers, artists, lovers
and devotees, from many parts of the world, all children of the God
in whose image women are made. .... This blog seeks to glorify God
through prayer, work, art, and intellectual reflection. Through
articles and ensuing discussion we hope to become an active and
thoughtful community. |
